Elizabeth is a CanSail 1&2 instructor with experience in competing at the Ontario Summer Games in the Club 420 class as well as other regattas. Elizabeth is also extremely active in rugby, volleyball, basketball, and several other extra-curricular activities. She is a student at Waterford District High School and is a student trustee with the Grand Erie District School Board.

Adult Program Keelboat Instructors

Michael Dietl

Michael finds an attachment to all things aquatic, and his passion is contagious. He's thoroughly qualified, teaching privately and through various sailing schools since 2001. He's a CYA-certified instructor of Keelboat, PCOC, and VHF Radio, and a Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary licensed Search-And-Rescue instructor and OCC and Sarex evaluator.

Michael is constantly improving his skill set, taking 1-2 Canadian Coast Guard courses and teaching 2-3 Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary courses each year. He has also participated in SAR games in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. He operates his pride and joy, a CS33 sailboat, out of Fifty Point Marina, and races as a crew member on an Express 30.

Adult Program and Youth Program Dinghy Instructors

Aidan Marr

Our Head Instructor is a CanSail 1 & 2 and 3&4 coach, and head instructor at PDYC Sailing School with four years' experience. He has also sailed offshore extensively and all around Lake Erie on a keelboat. Aidan has also upgraded his certification with a program manager module. Last year he joined Ontario Sailing’s BOOM program as a coach for a one-week adventure. Aidan has just completed his second year at Western University is enrolled in the Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (Accounting) and has a major in history.

Wes Van Til

Wes is a CanSail 1& 2 instructor with experience in competing at the Ontario Summer Games in the Club 420 class as well as other regattas. He is also an accomplished swimmer, competing in open water marathon swims as well as regular indoor competitions with the Hammerheads. Wes is a graduate of Holy Trinity Secondary school and just completed one year of studies at Queen’s University in engineering.

Elizabeth-Anne Marr

Elizabeth is a CanSail 1&2 instructor with experience in competing at the Ontario Summer Games in the Club 420 class as well as other regattas. Elizabeth is also extremely active in rugby, volleyball, basketball, ballet and several other extra-curricular activities. She is a student at Waterford District High School.

Matt Fulton

Matt is a CanSail 1&2 coach and is active in many sports including hockey and skiing. He is a student at Simcoe Composite School.

All instructors must have Standard or Emergency First Aid, pass two rigorous clinics, VHF radio licence and a PCOC card as well as at least one year of working or volunteering at a sailing school.
