Now Hiring

CANSail Instructor 1&2, 3&4 or 5

The Port Dover Yacht Club Sailing school has one instructor spot open for the 2019 season.

Our school is big on enthusiasm and has plans for growth once again this year. We are open to hiring a CanSail certified instructor with a variety of levels but has a keen interest in fostering a passion for the sport while having a great time on the water.

We sail out of the Port Dover Harbour Marina in one of the prettiest towns on Lake Erie. We offer competitive salary and compensation dependent on the experience of the sail instructor. Billeting options can be discussed for those from out of the area. Port Dover has been a beacon for cottagers and sun seekers for more than a century. Find out why and make money while you do.

PDYC Sailing School teaches on Picos and Club 420s and has a small but might race team that comes out every Tuesday night and competes at regattas. We teach youth aged 7 to 17 and adults.

Responsibilities: Regular program runs from July 2 until August 16 but we are interested in an instructor who might be able to begin earlier in the season in June to assist in start-up and spring training; direct support to fellow sailing instructors and head coach; liaison with volunteers and parents.

Requirements include:

· CanSail 1&2 and up certification
· 1 year of experience working or volunteering
· VHF radio licence
· Standard First Aid
· PCOC

Volunteer

The Port Dover Yacht Club Sailing School is a non-profit that offers a number of volunteer opportunities for a variety of skill sets:

Site Work. We need help putting the dock and ramp in the water, as well as setting up the site.

Boats. We occasionally need assistance with the maintenance and care of our vessels, as well as putting them in the water.

Administration. We need help with everything from website management, marketing, assisting with publicity events such as parades and fairs, staff recruitment, and staff support.

Fundraisers. We are planning to once again host a BIG PARTY in August. Your energy is most welcome.

Tuesday night dinghy night. We need volunteers to help with committee boat duties – come and help out and treat yourself to an entertaining front row seat to our senior youth racing a course.

If you're interested in helping us with any of the above, please feel free to contact us.

The Port Dover Yacht Club Sailing School is constantly growing, and always open to new ideas. If you can think of another way in which you would like to help out, please feel free to let us know.
