This year PDYC Sailing School is offering a set of introductory programs for those who are interested in finding out more about sailing. We know that once you try this, you'll be hooked and back for our full-time, certified programs.
We also offer full day programs which follow a certified Sail Canada program. Students who have completed CanSail I are strongly recommended to register for two weeks minimum to be challenged and successful.
CANSail Youth Dinghy - This is our regular full-week CANSail Certified program for kids of all ages who love their time on the water, and want to take their boating to the next level. Each week is multi-age, multi-level although some CanSail 3 and 4 kids may want to take their classes in the recommended weeks. Although students are welcome to register for one-week sessions, multiple weeks are required to complete most levels. You can explore the Sail Canada curriculum at www.sailing.ca.
Discover Sail - Youth (Ages 7 - 12) recommended - This is an introductory, non-certified program to get your kids' feet wet, and is packed with fun games and on-land activities as well as an opportunity to find out why those sailors seem to have so much fun.
Instructor-In-Training - We invite all experienced students 13 and over to register for this volunteer program, where they'll gain valuable work and life experience helping to teach courses, sharing their passion for boating while having some fun on the water.
PDYC Racing (ages 13 - 17) - For students registered for CANSail 3 and 4 or past students who have completed these courses, the Port Dover Yacht Club has a youth racing league to stoke your competitive spirit while having some fun out on the water.
