- Appropriate clothing for the weather: Bathing suit, change of clothes, foul weather gear (windproof jacket, pants), towel, hat, etc
- Water shoes/socks
- Sunscreen for face and lips. Apply it once when you arrive in the morning and reapply during the day
- Peanut-free lunch, water bottles (preferably insulated to keep water cold and fresh)
- Lifejacket/PFD if you have your own. We do supply lifejackets if you don't.
- Sunglasses with string
- Enthusiasm
- Please store all items in a big, keep your lunch in an insulated bag, and label everything, including your PFD if you have one.
- Your child should also be able to swim, and comfortable in and around the water.
Adult Program

- Bring a brown-bag lunch on the first Saturday. On the first day, the class will decide what to do on future days.
- Bring appropriate clothing for the weather: Bathing suit, change of clothes, foul weather gear (windproof jacket, pants), towel, hat, etc. Remember to layer, as the temperature can be considerably cooler than on land.
- Wear a non-marking, soft sole shoe to allow for safe movement about the deck. Leather soles are slippery, and dark rubber-sole heels mar the deck.
- Don't forget your sunscreen, lip balm, and a bottle of water!
Note about Weather Conditions:
Port Dover Yacht Club Sailing School runs through all weather. Students in full-time programs will learn lessons on land during periods of inclement or unsafe weather. Please ensure students have proper clothing for hot, humid weather including water bottles and a change of clothing.
No refunds due to inclement weather conditions. Rescheduling may take place for short programs where possible.
